as his pet bird looks on,

The QUEEN'S BATON RELAY  is to the Commonwealth Games as the Olympic Flame is to the Olympic Games.  The Queen's Baton carries the message written by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to be read at the Commonwealth Games' Opening Ceremony to the athletes of the Commonwealth. The Baton  visited all 71 nations of the Commonwealth prior to the Games, and visited Bermuda August 25th to 27th.  Events took place showcasing Bermudian and Commonwealth cultures.
