HOW THEY FARED:

Ranked 3rd in the World going into the Olympic competition,
Peter Bromby and Lee White
sailing in the Star Class
celebrated Peter's 40th birthday by notching up impressive 1st and 3rd
place wins. With a string of bad luck in the first half of the
regatta, unfortunately these results were not enough to afford them the
medal that Bermuda had hoped for.
Results

Competing in Athens' blistering heat, Tyler Butterfield
put in a stellar performance for Bermuda in the Triathlon event (1.5km swim, 40km bike
ride, and 10km run). Ranked 238 in the world, Tyler placed 35th out of a
field of 50 top triathletes, He
is the first Bermudian triathlete to compete at the Olympic Games.
Results
Katura Horton-Perinchief made her mark
on this Olympic Games by becoming the first black female diver to compete
at an Olympics. She improved her world ranking by placing
30th in the Women's 3m Springboard Diving Competition.

KIERA AITKEN, competing in the Women's 100m Backstroke Event at the Olympic Aquatic Centre,
Athens, won her heat in a time of 1:04:37 - A
NEW BERMUDA RECORD. Judy Siddle Simons, Secretary General of the BOA
reported from Athens
that Kiera "had the swim of her life". Results

TIM COLLINS AND DELTON MAGNA successfully completed the gruelling
Equestrian Three-Day Event competition (consisting of dressage, cross country and showjumping) to finish
a very creditable 36th out of 75 world-class riders. Commenting on his
performance Tim was clearly thrilled with his clear cross country round,
adding "how many Bermudian riders can say they have gone clear on an
Olympic cross-country course?" Results
Running in Heat 10 alongside Commonwealth and
World Champion Kim Collins, XAVIER JAMES clocked 10.40 seconds in
his Olympic debut, beating Bermuda's previous Olympic Athletics record
in the 100 metres. He finished 42nd out of 82 men overall

PAULA LEWIN, PETA LEWIN & CHRISTINE PATTON
competing in the Sailing Yngling Class completed their series of races with a fourth
place in the final race. Paula and her crew notched up another fourth
place in the first race and a sixth in race three.
