COMMONWEALTH YOUTH GAMES

All competitors in the Commonwealth Youth Games (CYG) will be 18 years of age (i.e. their 18th birthday is during the calendar year in which the CYG is held) unless otherwise directed under the rules of the relevant International Federation pertaining to youth competitions.

III COMMONWEALTH YOUTH GAMES
PUNE, INDIA
October 12th to 18th, 2008

Pune is located 170 km south of Mumbai.  The Airport is situated approx 12 km from the city.  Indian Airlines and Jet Airways provide regular flights to Pune from Delhi and there are railway services connecting to all major cities

The Commonwealth Games Federation  has confirmed that the programme in 2008 will be as follows:

Athletics (Men & Women)
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 300m, 100m Hurdles (w), 100m Hurdles (m) 4x100 Relay, 4x400m Relay, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Putt, Hammer, Discus, Javelin.  Maximum of 2 athletes per country entered per event.

Aquatics - Swimming (M&W)
50m, 100m & 200m (Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke & Butterfly).  Consideration will be given to relay events once the indicative level of entries is known.  If included, participants within such events will be drawn from the single entries.  Maximum of 2 swimmers per country entered per event.

Badminton (M&W)
Singles & Doubles.  Maximum of 4 men and 4 women per country entered per event. Consideration will be given to team events once indicative levels of entries are known.

Boxing (M)
48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kg & 75kg.  Maximum of 1 boxer per country entered per event.

Shooting (M&W)
Men - 10m Air Rifle, 50 Rifle Prone, 50m Rifle 3 Positions, 10m Air Pistol, 25m Sports Pistol, 50m Pistol, Trap, Double Trap and Skeet.  Women-10m Air Rifle, 50m Rifle Prone, 50m Rifle 3 Positions, 10m Air Pistol and 25m Sports Pistol.  Maximum of 1 shooter per country entered per event.

Table Tennis (M&W)
Singles & Doubles.  In addition, subject to sufficient entries, a Teams event and a Mixed Doubles event will be included.  If included, participants will be drawn from the singles/doubles entries.  Maximum of 4 men and 4 women per country entered per event.

Tennis (M&W)
Singles & Doubles.  Maximum of 4 men and 4 women per country entered per event.

Weightlifting (M&W)
Men: 56kg, 62kg, 69kg, 77kg & 85 kg.  Women: 48kg, 53kg, 58kg, 63kg & 69kg.  Maximum of 1 athlete per country entered per event.

Wrestling (M)
39-42kg, 46kg, 54kg, 58kg, 59kg, 63kg & 69kg. Maximum of 1 wrestler per country entered per event.

Competitors should be no older than 18 during the year of competition. (Different criteria apply to boxing and wrestling)
