2009 Caribbean Games Village
The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus; for Tobago TBD
Bus transportation provided for athletes and coaches from Village to Sports
Venues and for officials from designated hotel.
BOXING
System of Qualification - CANOC members to send 1 boxer per weight
category with AIBA int'l record book, to participate in 4 two min. rounds &
60 sec. rest bet. 11 boxers plus officials per team.
Criteria - Weight categories: 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 64kg, 69kgg,
75kg, 81kg, 91kg, +91kg - gold, silver, 2 bronze medals in each category
will be awarded.
Venue - Chaguaramas Convention Centre/Cove Hotel
NETBALL
System of Qualification - To be determined by Caribbean Netball
Federation
Criteria - Standard must be elite teams, national representation.
Venue - The Jean Pierre Complex
SWIMMING
System of Qualification - Qualifying standard comparable to B standard
from Pan American Games as "A" standard; results from last CAC Games in
Colombia from 12th place.
Criteria - Times achieved from Jan 1, 2008; 2 Male and Female
swimmers in each of 30 events (15 male & 15 female) 50,100,200,400,800/1500
free; 100,200 Back, 100,200 fly, 200,400 IM; 4x100 free, 4x100 Med.
Venue - Bacolet, Tobago
TRACK& FIELD
System of Qualification - each athlete participating would have had to
achieve entry qualifying standard for each event; each country allowed 2
athletes per event.
Criteria - Number of entries received will determine the number of
rounds to be contested; thereafter determined by performance; 500 track and
field athletes and officials expected to participate in CG2009.
Venue - Hasley Crawford National Stadium
VOLLEYBALL
System of Qualification - Indoor: Top 7 teams plus host, based on world
ranking; Beach: Top 15 teams plus host, based on world ranking, where
applicable.
Criteria - 12 players, 3 tech staff, Head of delegation.
Venue - University of the West Indies Sports & Physical Education
Centre (Indoor); Maracas Beach (Outdoor).
