Duffy, Best to feature in Walk of Fame

Bermuda icons including Clyde Best and Flora Duffy will be celebrated in a Walk of Fame being planned for the National Sports Centre.
The Centre’s trustees are appealing for sponsorship for the project, due to be launched in June, which will see life-size pictures of Bermuda’s best known sports stars go on display.
Commonwealth gold medal-winner Duffy and trailblazing footballer Best were among those selected by sporting bodies, along with boxer Clarence Hill, Commonwealth high jump record-holder Clarance “Nicky” Saunders, triathlete Tyler Butterfield, swimmer Victor Ruberry, diver Katura Horton-Perinchief, hockey player Emma Simmons, volleyball player Lisa LeBlanc and cricketer Clarence Parfitt.
Duffy launches ‘Flora Fund’ for athletes

Flora Duffy has launched a fund to support young Bermudians aiming to follow in the world champion triathlete’s footsteps.
The “Flora Fund”, started by a donation from Duffy in partnership with the Bermuda Community Foundation, aims to help aspiring and talented Bermuda athletes reach their goals.
Duffy said: “I could not have successfully pursued my dream of being a professional athlete without considerable help.
“Competing at the highest level of any sport requires constant funding and encouragement.
“I am massively grateful for the private and corporate support that, along with my family, enabled me to get there.
“Now I would like to help others where I canung Bermudians aiming to follow in the world champion triathlete’s footsteps.
